Excellent Performance by SBPS student in Maths Olympiad


Rohan of XII performed exceptionally well in the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics IOQM (RMO) 2020-21. His hard work and diligence have helped him to get a score of 53 and bag the Second position in the state.

He has qualified for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad 2021 (INMO) to be conducted in the month of March by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE).

The region demarcations were defined by a committee appointed by the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) and were approved by NBHM.

Remarks

  1. A total of 451 students have been selected in the “ top 450 in class 8,9,10,11” category and from the following regions at least 30 students have qualified in this category.
    (a) Delhi
    (b) North Western States
    (c) Mumbai
    (d) Maharashtra & Goa
    (e) Rajasthan
    (f) Telangana
    (g) Tamil Nadu
    The cut-off marks for this category is 38.
  2. A total of 97 students have been selected in the “ top 90 in class 12 “ category and from the following regions at least 6 students have qualified in this category.
    (a) Delhi
    (b) North Western States
    (c) Rajasthan
    (d) Telangana
    The cut-off marks for this category is 51.
  3. If for any region either the regional quota of 30 for class 8,9,10,11 category or the regional quota of 6 for class 12 category was not fulfilled after selecting the students in “ top 450 in class 8,9,10,11” category and “top 90 in class 12” category, the remaining students were selected from the rest of the merit list of either categories. All students tied in the 30th position (for class 8,9,10,11) and in the 6th position (for class 12) were included in the respective lists of qualified students of that region.
  4. The region-wise list of all students eligible for a certificate of merit by virtue of scoring at least 5 marks in IOQM and securing a position either in the top 300 among class 8,9,10,11 students or in the top 60 among class 12 students will be put up after March 15, 2021 along with information on the mode of distribution of the certificates and the date of commencement of distribution.
